Drop-dead GORGEOUS!
Dictionary.com inspiring awe, astonishment, or envy Check It Out!
Okay, you may think this post a little superficial but when dictionary.com had it listed, well really, could I pass it up? No. But really, who doesn't notice someone who's drop-dead gorgeous? I know I do. Doesn't mean people that aren't, (like me!) aren't lovable, but there's something about seeing a handsome/pretty face. And sure, there's more to a person than looks, but here at the A-Z Challenge we're looking at 26 different aspects to falling in love.
So, go with me today!! :)

A-Z WC-Why Do People Fall In Love-C
Why Do People Fall In Love-C
C is for character.
Dictionary.com says this about character:
The aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing. CHECK IT OUT HERE
Notice the definition doesn't say anything about being good.
Good character. Don't we all look for that in a person? Someone we know we can trust, believe and depend on. Someone who will help us out when we're in a pinch. Someone who we know will have their shoulder available when we need to shed some tears.
What is a sign of good character you look for in somebody?

B is for Beauty
I'm not just talking about physically beautiful people. Although we all know them. We all see people who are pleasing to the eye. When they walk by you think about how beautiful they are.
But true beauty comes from within. According to dictionary.com here is the definition of beauty:
The quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest). CHECK IT OUT HERE
I love how they worded it--intense pleasure or deep satisfaction. Because don't we all love those feelings? They just make us feel good.
So what do you find truly beautiful in a person?

A-Z WC-Why Do People Fall In Love-A
Whoo-Hoo! The Writing Challenge has begun! Thanks to all who have worked putting this together.
My A-Z theme is Why People Fall In Love--after all, I love love and I love a happy ending. :)
Also--I'm giving away copies of my book Her Best Catch--all month long! At the end of the post I'll say whether it's a give-away day or not. If it is, leave a comment and you are entered in the drawing!
Why People Fall In Love-A
A-Attraction
quality; magnetic charm; fascination; allurement; enticement: the subtle attraction of her strange personality. CHECK IT OUT
Let's face it. We've all probably felt it before. That initial attraction to someone. We are all attracted to different types of people. Personally, I have always gone for the boy-next-door look as opposed to the Alpha male look. I have a preference for no facial hair. I never really dated blondes.
But there are plenty of women who love a blonde haired-facial haired-Alpha kind of guy. That's what makes the world go round!
So, what about you? What kinds of things instantly catch your attention? Anything you purposely steer away from?

Not A List Person-But Need A List
I'm so not a list person. Really, I'm not. I'd rather have all these things rambling around in my brain, then issue apologies, I guess, when I forget something.
Really?
I want to be like this?
No. I don't. But why don't I learn? Why don't I make a list and cross things off?
I think lists are intimidating to me. It's the only thing I can figure out. Maybe without the list I can pretend there isn't all that much going on, or all that much to do. Lately, with a barrage of things going on, and a forecast of many things due I've decided I need to change my idea about lists.
Or something needs to give.
Because I don't like feeling overwhelmed. Maybe when everything is running around in my head, and I force it on the list, then a different kind of overwhelmed feeling happens.

Not sure. I have a list I made last night sitting to my right. It doesn't look too long and scary, but maybe that's because I forgot to put stuff on it. Not sure.
I'll keep you posted.
Above is a picture of one of two bulletin boards I stare at while I'm at my desk. This is how my brain feels right now. Hmmmm....
How do you organize your to-do-life?

Already Thursday--A Just Rambling Post
Ha--I bet you're wondering how to take that title. Like the week is flying by? Like she's not glad it's Thursday?
Yes! I'm terribly glad it's Thursday. And Friday is jeans day at the day job, so that's always one less thing to worry about--you know, what you're going to wear. Don't take it wrong, I don't STRESS about what I wear to work. I think the biggest thing is trying to remember what I just wore so I don't wear the same thing 2 days in a row--ha--an especially crazy scenario when I do all the laundry. Hmmm...when Did I wear that last?
Anyway, enough of that! I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm looking forward to not driving Saturday---staying at home for a day of working on the novel.
How about you? Any interesting plans this weekend?

Unwritten-Encourage The Journey
No matter what we are doing in life there are struggles. Mondays will be our day to talk about what was left unwritten last week---and then offer encouragement for the following week.
And if everything from your previous week was written—let’s celebrate!

Well last week flew by! And Saturday I flew to Seattle to hang with my nephews and niece so my brother and his wife can have a grand time in NYC. So I hope to write LOTS of words on my current wip. I read an interview with Diana Gabaldon last week. She says she has more than one writing project going on at all times. When she gets stuck on one, she just goes to another project. And this keeps going. I'm not sure I can work on more than one book at a time. What about you?
How were you encouraged last week?
PS--If you're interested in a short Bachelor recap from last Monday night episode and a short post on song themes while writing your current manuscript check out my Monday post HERE.

Whoo--It's January!
It's 2012!
It's cold in Georgia today!
After a few days of almost 70 degrees, I don't think we are getting out of the 30's today. I'm glad I'm staying in.
Seeing how this is the first post of 2012, Encouraging The Journey could be quite long. Lots of things to accomplish! But I'm still focusing on a weekly time basis here.
This week I have blog posts to write, and I need to work on my current novel, Rich In Love---I took a holiday break and hope it doesn't take me too long to get back into the 'mood' of the novel.
How about you? Did you take a break over the holiday? Did you work right through it? I know people on both ends of the spectrum and in between. I'd love to hear where you fell.

Well. It's almost here. Christmas day. I don't know about you guys, but I spent my week getting ready for Christmas. I'm not a big shopping fan, so I went a little later at night. We really haven't run into any terrible crowds. I got some giveaway books mailed out. That's about it for my week. Oh, but I did bake some oatmeal raisin cookies..from scratch. I've never done that before. So I liked my week. How about you?
This week will be doing a little more to prepare for Christmas, but hope to get some writing done as well!!

Well last week was certainly interesting. And encouraging! I was encouraged greatly by my editor who bought a 3 book series from me! The Richness of Faith series will be out in 2013 and 2014. So yes, I was encouraged last week! Now this week I need to be encouraged to write. :) How about you? What encouraged you last week? Were you an encouragement to anyone?
Thank God It's Friday--Literally!-
T.G.I.F. We've all seen it and heard it a million times. We'll devote Friday's to telling the world what we're thanking God for!
Today I'm extremely thankful for computers, the internet and email. They have sped up the process of so many things. There are a couple of bank accounts I handle at my job that I do by hand--writing the checks and such--it's fine because we don't do a lot with those accounts, but I can't imagine running a full business on a ledger.
How about you? What are you thankful for today?

Thank God It's Friday--Literally!-Sharpies!
T.G.I.F. We've all seen it and heard it a million times. We'll devote Friday's to telling the world what we're thanking God for!
Thanksgiving isn't the only time of the year to be thankful, right? 'They' say thankful people are happier people. Hmmm. Sounds good, doesn't it?
There was a guy on a radio station here the Friday after Thanksgiving asking people what they were thankful for. He said the 'big ticket items, family, health, jobs, and such' were a given, so he wanted the 'other' things people were thankful for. There were a lot of great calls--people being thankful for everything from Chick-Fil-A honey-bbq sauce to WI-FI. Fun stuff.
So, in the same vein, I'm going with it. :)
I'm thankful for different colored Sharpies. All the colors make put me in a great mood and I feel pretty motivated to work when I get to jot notes with the Sharpies. (No comments on what that REALLY says about me.)
How about you? What non-big-ticket item are you thankful for?

Did I Notice Your Book

With all the new tools out there to monitor book sales and blurbs mentioned about their books, I’m going to highlight a new book each week. I’ll post it in the morning. If by the end of the day that author finds her book on this post I want her or him to tell us how they discovered it; word of mouth through the close network of writers, a Yahoo group mention, or through some new-fangled Google tool.
Now, how will I choose this book each week? It will be a book that caught my attention. As a reader, I will keep an eye out for something that either provoked me to read the blurb, look at the author’s blog, or purchase said book.
Before I reveal my choice I want to clarify that this author has no idea that I’ve chosen his/her book.
The book I've chosen is: The Perfect Rose by Felecia Rogers

Abandoned by his wife and left to raise a child alone, Caleb Reed falls short of the ideal work-from-home dad. He needs a woman to help him, in every sense of the word. At the suggestion of a friend, Caleb agrees to hire Ariel Lauren on a trial basis.
As an orphan, Ariel has more issues than just how to make it on her own. Yes, she needs the money that Caleb offers her, but more than anything she finds she desires his love. One calamity after another befalls her and jeopardizes her new job and her chance at having a family. But through it all, Caleb is by her side, his gruff exterior threatening to melt in the face of their shared attraction. Will they decide to continue life alone or will the magic of Valentine's Day bring them together?
I chose this book first because I loved the cover. I'm a sucker for romance--love--and all that inspires those special feelings. I love faces on covers and I love roses! So, this cover drew me in right away.
Then I read the blurb. Valentine's Day? I'm there. The author hooked me with the story line as well.
